The History

This Podiatry Practice was initiated at the Country Club Rd. location in 1951 by Felton Gamble, DPM who had previously practiced in southern New Jersey, taught radiology at the Temple University School of Chiropody in Philadelphia and later co-authored Clinical Foot Roentgenology with Irving Yale (1975).

In 1951, he and his family moved to Tucson primarily for his wife’s health, which greatly

improved. He raised his 3 children in the home part of the building and maintained a podiatry practice in the attached building. Dr. Gamble retired in 1980 at which time Dr. Shapiro purchased the practice and home/office.

Dr. Shapiro enjoyed a successful career in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from 1980 to 2016, when he retired and passed the baton to Dr. Erika Huston.  The practice of quality foot and ankle care at 1888 N. Country Club Rd. will continue for many years to come.

Love and Gratitude

February 10, 2023

Days away from Valentine's Day, I want to take the opportunity to express my love and gratitude for so much.  I am grateful for my new MA Kathy!  She's amazing and a great fit for the office.

I love feet!  I'm presently attending the annual conference for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and it's so exciting what the community of podiatrists is doing and discovering and it invigorates my passion for my profession.  I look forward to returning home and implementing what I have learned.

As the Pandemic Evolves

July 29, 2020

We're still smiling behind our masks!! We continue to see patients that are in need of essential Podiatry care and dedicate ourselves to ensuring patient safety.  Cleanliness is at its most thorough!  Patients are asked not to come to the office if they have a fever or are experiencing a loss of sense of taste or smell and masks are required.  Top rated care continues to be administered as we do our best to navigate the complexities of this pandemic.

Covid-19 Update:

March 26, 2020

Amid all of the distress caused by the coronovirus we are remaining open to ease your foot pain and ailments.  We have improved our cleaning and disinfecting and are judiciously screening patients when they enter.  We are limiting the number of patients that can be seen at a time to minimize risk.  We are asking anyone who feels under the weather not to come to the office.  Appointments will generally be limited to what is considered "essential" and we may ask patients to cancel or reschedule.  We will respect your opinion on whether you feel your condition is essential, as we understand how debilitating foot pain can be!  Be smart and stay well during this difficult time!

Another New Year!

January 5, 2018

We Love Feet <3

February 12, 2017

Happy Valentine's Day!  Tomorrow we are implementing a new Electronic Medical Record into the practice.  The new system will streamline data input, billing, charting, and communication with other providers in the patient's care team.  It could be several months before all of the bumps have been worked out, so please be patient.
